Barefoot Dreams is a luxury gift designer that specialized at first in baby blankets and baby gifts. It is not too surprising that parents who came to love Barefoot Dreams baby blankets demanded that they make a blanket for full-sized adults too. A few years ago, Barefoot Dreams gave in to the thousands of requests and came up with a new line of full-sized Barefoot Dreams Throws. These throws quickly created buzz quickly, and before long Oprah declared the Cozychic throw one of her favorite gifts. Since then, this throw has remained a fashion icon for trendy households.

Let’s take a closer look at the Barefoot Dreams throw. The secret behind this small company’s success is its innovative micro-fiber blend known as Cozychic fabric, a soft, washable and durable fabric that uses bamboo as well as synthetic materials. Bamboo has an interesting thermal profile because of its natural fibers that retain heat in cold weather and also keeps you cool during warmer weather. This is true for all Barefoot Dreams blankets. The grown-up-sized Barefoot Dreams throw is 54” x 72”, which makes it ideal for sharing with a special someone, or kicking back with an old movie on a relaxing evening. Color choices are wide ranging, from aqua ice to amethyst, with some classic earth tones as well

We try to eat healthy around our home and for us that means we eat a lot of fresh vegetables, fish and especially poultry. Truthfully, there are times we feel like we’ve run out of ideas on ways to cook our chicken. How many ways can you cook a cutlet? Well there are really a lot of ways, but from time to time we just want something different. Then we found this great stoneware chicken roaster and fell in love with chicken all over again. The concept is basic but simply genius!

You just place your whole chicken, ham, or small turkey on this vertical roaster with your veggies or potatoes in the tray below. This clever cooking device actually allows the chicken to cook faster and more evenly than many other methods because it cooks consistently from the inside out. The resulting chicken is still juicy and the veggies are just delicious from cooking in the succulent juices of the meat. We’ve found it to be a wonderful and nutritious way to cook our small chickens and roasts. Romertopf, a well-known manufacturer of quality stoneware and clay bakers that is sold in over 40 countries around the world, makes this roaster.

One of my fondest childhood memories is making corn dogs with my grandmother. Every summer I would go visit her and we would make these scrumptious things from scratch. If you’re wondering how to make corn dogs, it’s really not that hard. You make a stiff cornbread batter. Then you stick a stick into a hot dog, dip it in the batter and fry it. There’s really no reason to wait for the state fair or your local amusement part to enjoy this crunchy treat. It’s really pretty easy to make them right in your own kitchen. All it takes is a good recipe and a little practice.

There are actually quite a few junk food recipes out there that allow you to make anything from funnel cake and corn dogs to hot dog stir fry right at home. We call these types of food florescent foods at our house. While we don’t make them very often because they aren’t exactly healthy, they are a nice treat enjoyed in moderation. Hey, sometimes you just have to give in to that craving for a good corn dog. And when I fix them at home I can at least buy a good quality hot dog and control what goes into the batter and what kind of oil I fry it in.
